Peter George

Chairman
Peter has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical services industry. Peter stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of Clinigen Group plc at the end of 2016. He started Clinigen in 2010 as a global specialty pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical services business and by 2016 it had a c.£1bn market cap, being one of the most successful recent floats on AIM.

Duncan Akin

Chief Executive Officer
Duncan has worked extensively in the Financial Institutions sector for over 40 years. His early career focused around foreign exchange and money market dealing before becoming European Treasurer for a major US bank. This was followed by a spell as Acquisitions and Divestment Director. The last 6 years Duncan worked for a Global Fleet Services business as Credit and Bank Card Director. Duncan joins Enigma Group Holdings Limited as Group Managing Director

Lee Mainwaring

Lee is an Associate of the Chartered Management Accountants (ACMA), with over 25 years post qualified experience in highly commercialised businesses. Lee also has a Masters Business Administration (Innovation and Creativity) from University of Wales. Lee joined as the Group Finance Director for Enigma Holdings and XPG group of companies in November 2018. Previously Lee was the Group Finance Director for Clinigen and supported the IPO for the company in 2012. Lee also completed two Management Buy-Outs with Penn; the first in 2004, the second deal in 2007 worth £67m.

Richard Bevan OBE

Richard was appointed to the post of Chief Executive of the League Managers Association in January 2008. Richard is a prominent character in the world of sport and business. He joined the Professional Cricketers’ Association in 1996 & became Chief Executive in 2001 to 2007, developing the profile and business of the organisation to becoming a major player in world of cricket. Richard was also a founding Director of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations. He is also a Trustee of the Team England Player Partnership & member of the Professional Players’ Federation (the umbrella body for all players’ associations including the PFA, PGA, PRA, PCA and Jockeys’ Association). Richard Bevan is also Chairman of The Board of The Caribbean Premier League.

Jon is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society by examination, which is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. As a Chartered Financial Planner his speciality is advising individuals in respect of their private wealth and also advising businesses on profit extraction and exit planning. Jon is currently Managing Director of 3D IFS Limited.

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in healthcare and life sciences, having qualified in Pathology, with a Masters in both Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology and an Executive MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University Chicago.

In 2017 he stepped down from running Clinigen plc to found Enigma Holdings, an investment company that specialises in health, wellbeing, sport, learning, community and social housing, and XPG Ltd an investment company focused on property.

Clinigen Group plc is a company he started in 2010 as a global specialty pharmaceuticals and pharma services business and floated in 2012; by 2016 it had a c.£1bn+ market cap, being one of the most successful floats on the AIM stock market.

Prior to Clinigen Peter led the £67m management buy-out of Penn Pharmaceuticals, which was crowned “the PE deal of the year 2007”, where he was also named European Private Equity CEO of the year 2010. Whilst leading Clinigen numerous awards were gained for the company; No.1 Sunday Times Fast Track profit 100 (2011), Bionow Investment deal of the year(2012), M&A Awards IPO of the year & AIM Awards Best Newcomer (2013), European Business Awards – Business of TO €26m-€150m (2014) and LSE Top 100 inspiring British companies (2015). And for Peter personally he was named European Mediscience CEO of the year in 2014 and Entrepreneur of the year at the 2016 AIM Awards.

In addition to Enigma Holdings and XPG, Peter currently holds a number of public and private company roles; Chairman of Benchmark Holdings PLC, NED at Osler Diagnostics, advisor at Clinigen Group, Ergomed plc,Gresham House and Oxford Sciences Innovations plc.

He has held a number of CIO and CTO roles within large and small Financial institutions including; Barclays, RBS, Co-operative and Challenger Banks. Combined with this industry experience Mark has 7 years experience in IT advisory consulting roles across the UK and Europe.
